Time Table and Train Order Learning Session
Friday May 4th & Saturday May 5, 2018
For 2018, we will again be offering Timetable & Train Order (TT&TO) learning sessions that are specifically designed and targeted to folks that have little knowledge on how this prototype operating strategy actually works These sessions will combine some “classroom” time with actual hands-on layout experience – without the stress of an actual full blown op session. There will be numerous home crew mentors to help everyone have fun and learn about this popular operation methodology.
There is a place to indicate interest in this opportunity on the registration form. Please remember that these sessions will be offered during the same time slots that the regular operating sessions are offered. Space will limited for the TT&TO sessions, therefore, out of town registrants will be afforded priority if space fills up. If you already possess some knowledge of TT&TO but still wish to operate on Mike Chandlers layout, each session will also require 2 yardmasters – some experience required.
The Ops Coordinator will contact you directly once your name is received from the event Registrar to confirm your interest and formally sign you up. Layout preferences will be welcomed closer to the event dates. Not all layouts will be offered for both sessions and the list below is tentative until it is labeled FINAL. Should any session be oversubscribed, the Coordinator will employ lottery type strategies in combination with geographical proximity parameters to assign positions. Please ensure you are able to arrive 15 minutes before the session start time and can remain for the duration before requesting a position. The sessions generally last between 3 to 4 hours at the discretion of the layout owner. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation and guests are NOT permitted at these sessions.
Detailed information, locations and assignments for the layouts will be released to the attendees once the final layout assignments are completed by the Coordinator – usually about 7 to 10 days prior to the event. The particular layout that a registrant will operate on will be dependent on which layouts has been requested, the demand for each layout, and will be determined by the Operating Sessions Coordinator at his discretion
